Background
of the project:
This project, that serves the
benefit of the communities of Palestine, is an attempt to help them to get “in touch” with their
environment and think of better ways to conserve it and protect it. Hence, Palestine Wildlife
Society (PWLS) is to produce and transmit 20 Episodes on local TV and Radio stations, as well as 20
environmental articles and reports in a local and well known newspaper.
Objectives
of the Project:
The
project aims to develop and interaction and an “environmental relationship” with the local
communities, so that to help introducing the concepts of conserving the nature and conserving the
environment by covering most of the ecological problems facing their environment and discussing the
best solution to avoid them, such as pollution/ Air, food, soil & water shortage.
This is done by:
Ø
The production of 20 TV and Radio episodes on the issue of Environmental Awareness
(Including Environmental Issues, Nature Conservation).
Ø
Newspaper weekly articles, Environmental advertisements and monthly reports.
Outputs:
Output 1: Production
and Transmission of 20 episodes for TV.
Activity:
This output consists of editing, producing and transmitting TV episodes that
cover different environmental issues, which are important and benefit the target group. Each episode
(1 and a half hour long) includes the participation of different people who have experience and
knowledge on the subject that is going to be discussed, as well as 2-3 reports that give a complete
coverage and a picture of the problem in the real life and the opinion of the local communities.
Each episode is transmitted live on the local TV station (Al-Mahed
TV Station), which gives the chance for the viewers (from both, Local People and Responsible and
Experienced people) to participate by calling and giving their opinions and suggestions.

showed heart of the issue on real life, and also covered the opinion of the local people, as well as
responsible personnel on the environmental issues that the area is suffering from, or needs to
manage their everyday life.

Activity:
This Output includes the Editing,
Producing 20 Radio Episodes that covers different environmental issues, which seemed to be important
and affect the health and everyday life of people (each episode is 30 minutes long). Each episode
includes the introduction of each subject being discussed to the listeners and hold talking with
people who are professional or have the enough experience and knowledge in the related subject.

participating in each episode, those whom have the experience and knowledge to provide the target
groups with a better view and quality information about the different environmental issues. Some of
the episodes were broadcasted live, other was taped, and that is due to the time pressure in
planning preparing each episode.

Publishing of 20 Environmental Articles and reports (Special Pages)

Activity:
This output includes of writing and publishing
Environmental Articles and Reports in a local Newspaper (Al-Quds
Newspaper), which also covers the different environmental issues that the area goes through. The
newspaper was chosen for it high rate of readers, one which can speak the language of its readers.
