Privacy Policy

Your privacy is very important to us!

We at the Palestine Wildlife Society depend on kind supporters, people like you, to protect wildlife and Biodiversity in Palestine from suffering and cruelty in the current period in the Gaza Strip – Palestine and other PWLS programme and activities.

PWLS History

In 1998, a group of 13 people from all over the West Bank and the Gaza Strip realized that they wanted to raise environmental awareness in their Districts.  They decided to form their own environmental organization as the first of its kind in the area.  Their dream came to fruition in 1999 with the official establishment of the Palestine Wildlife Society.  Since the beginning, PWLS has strongly focused on developing clear and strategic objectives regarding environmental educational concepts and conservation of nature and biodiversity.  PWLS has proved to be both dedicated and effective in raising environmental and wildlife awareness.

Palestine Wildlife Society (PWLS) is an active, professional, not for profit organization working in research and education, and wildlife protection in Palestine and the region.

Mission: The Conservation and Enhancement of Palestinian Biodiversity & Wildlife.

Objectives

  • Conservation and management of native species and habitats
  • Monitoring and promoting important bird areas
  • Education on wildlife and nature issues
  • Active participation and involvement of local communities in the conservation movement, sustainable development, and eco- tourism
  • Helping animals and farms.

It is noteworthy that the Wildlife Society in Palestine, since 2008, had signed an animal welfare agreement with the World Society for Protection of Animals (now World Animal Protection- https://www.worldanimalprotection.org / UK). Since that time, the Society has been working to follow up on the situation of animals in the Bethlehem Governorate and after the first war in the Gaza Strip in 2008, where it treated approximately 500 animals from Farm animals in the Gaza Strip and performing some surgical operations on them. After that, I worked in some governorates of the West Bank to care for farm animals in cooperation with international animal welfare institutions. Donation campaigns were carried out from international bodies and from people who also supported these campaigns.

At Palestine Wildlife Society (PWLS) we have some basic principles we follow:

• We do not ask you for personal data unless we really need it. (We cannot accept services that ask you for things like your gender or income level for no apparent reason.)

• We do not share your personal information with anyone except to comply with the law, develop our services, or protect our rights.

It is PWLS's policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect from you.

Website Visitors

Like most website operators, our site collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. PWLS's purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how PWLS's visitors use its website. From time to time, PWLS may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.

PWLS also collects personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for users leaving comments on our blogs. PWLS only discloses logged in user and commenter IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information as described below, except that blog commenter IP addresses are visible and disclosed to the administrators of the blog where the comment was left.

Collection of personally identifiable information

Certain visitors to PWLS's websites choose to interact with PWLS in ways that require PWLS to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information PWLS collects depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, we ask visitors who comment on our blog to provide a username and email address. For those who wish to receive PWLS updates via email, we collect their emails. In each case, PWLS collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor's interaction with PWLS.

PWLS does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.

Aggregated Statistics

PWLS may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its websites. PWLS does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.

Protection of Certain Personally-Identifying Information

PWLS will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone. PWLS discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only in response to a subpoena, court order or other governmental request, or when PWLS believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of PWLS, third parties or the public at large. If you are a registered user of an PWLS website and have supplied your email address, PWLS may occasionally send you an email to tell you about new features, solicit your feedback, or just keep you up to date with what’s going on with PWLS and our products. We primarily use our various product blogs to communicate this type of information, so we expect to keep this type of email to a minimum. If you send us a request (for example via a support email or via one of our feedback mechanisms), we reserve the right to publish it to help us clarify or respond to your request or to help us support other users. PWLS takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of potentially personally identifying and personally-identifying information.
